Chapter 1: Grow or Die.)
today's episode is called grow or
die what does that mean
anony exactly what it sounds like you're
not growing you're dying it's not
growing you're dying I think uh a lot of
people this abs and flows in business
but you gotta I think we we started H
mind we had a big growth period and then
we've been kind of dying out but we've
grew in other areas CU we focus on other
areas massively grew in other areas yes
the idea was never to build the world's
biggest CRM company it was to build a
network of L on G yeah
of uh people out there that are dual
mining for us right so we didn't build a
real estate company we buildt a
marketing engine yeah and that's
something that you know mission
accomplished I think right absolutely
absolutely it's been hard that was the
all the all in all goal so even if I
mind dwindle their fault for a little
bit the all in all goal is building the
it was our entry in the marketplace I
think that was a good pivot for us but
um I think you gotta reinvest in your
business it can die in the first two
three years very easily very easily for
Chapter 2: The Power of Capital Raising.)
everybody that starts done a startup I
think uh talk about this is a good point
how many startups have you done
Anthony maybe 30 to 40 30 to 40 startups
I'm at like three or four but you only
need one to be right you only got to be
right once in business you only got to
be right once so I think um it's one of
those things where sometimes it's good
to let things die you know I think if I
know what I know now I would have
started with with the end result in mind
yeah and I think right now Capital
raising is the really the only end game
that I could see for any business y so
if you're starting a real estate company
if you're starting like I want to start
a lasic clinic right so start doing like
laser and skincare and anti-aging
reverse aging stuff it's like if I open
that business now there's a 0%
possibility for failure for that company
because now I'm going to think about it
from a standpoint of raising Capital
instead of like I'm going to sell enough
laser appointments to pay for the
mortgage for business for insurance for
all the equipment that's a very slow
turnaround that's like buying a rental
and trying to wait for your profit to
come back right or wait for appreciation
so I'm G to I'm going to come at it from
a capital raising standpoint hey this
business costs $100,000 a year to
operate that means this business needs
1.1 million to survive and I'll just
math out the years two years three years
four years it's going to 100% chance
that it's going to be successful because
I'm not going to let it fall just going
to math it I'm going to Ranch math it
out how many Ranch is it going to take
to keep this business alive and I'm
going to run it so I think that's that's
what I've learned in all my mistakes
throughout all my careers is I wouldn't
have thought about it as the business
making money and making profit and then
me immediately reinvesting it back into
that same business and grow it that way
right you know I mean like I'd rather
find something with a bigger concept
that requires a very large substantial
raise and then I'd concentrate my
efforts and energy into that one space
Here's my two cents on this I think high
value products yield to faster results
yeah got so expensive stuff if you sell
$10 million stuffs and you just make a
little spread on it there's probably a
lot of spread in that $10 million sale
yep so that's what that's why I think
where we're headed with these ranches is
we appreciate any size deal whether it's
10 or 20 acres I mean we buy a mobile
home on one acre we bu we buying it
today um but if you're thinking in terms
of hey I want to start aiming at five
and $10 million lots and $15 million
Lots it doesn't take that many of those
like even if you only did one of those a
Chapter 3: High-Value Products for Faster Growth.)
year your your career is going like
substantially well like it's amazing
yeah I after all my stuff with Trucking
I was kind of limited to what I could do
based off of equipment which is a
terrible way big terrible business
terrible business very cash hungry
business I think even even the CRM stuff
it's it's a great business if you have
intellectual property that you can
protect but um other than that you're
still selling $99 subscription so we had
the hive mind concept idea in December
we launched in February so we did we
chose a white label not because we
wanted to like be the number one yeah
whatever yeah we wanted to launch
immediately and if you know me and
Daniel pretty well we we execute pretty
quickly when we find something that
we're going to perform on um and this
was it this was one of those situations
where we were kind of First Market with
a white W ghl service called HIV mind
and the idea only idea was to build a
marketing engine and the brand and it
worked it worked amazingly well and it's
it's like there's nothing that can undo
what's been done now yeah I feel like
we're a household name in the land space
Chapter 4: Knowing When to Let Go.)
yep and we're doing tremendous things
and it's getting better so I think
that's another thing too is not maybe
maybe we're not the Front Runners in
land space I don't know who's more who's
doing more deals and all that kind of
stuff but we're always uh we're always
growing and we're always learing yeah
yeah we're players now that's all that's
all that matters and now we got a little
bit of oil you know that we're looking
at on one of our ranches that we bought
so is it going to come to fruition who
knows who cares I'm just I'm glad to be
in the position to be playing at that
level anyway yep it's it's a crazy thing
man it's a crazy thing it's a domino
effect so I think that First Market
thing kind of hack hacked the system a
little bit and then differentiating
yourself in whatever way you can and
finding something that is expensive to
sell because I always think the key
points if you're going to grow or
die um and that's just how it goes just
how it goes but some Things Are Meant to
die and that's okay you got to be okay
with that and you got to come to the
realization that it's okay to let it die
sometimes it's people relationships they
fade family it's deals I think if you
want to go further in business you need
to prune your personal life you need to
get rid of family and friends that that
don't serve you that don't help you they
don't help you grow at least temporarily
because if if that's your excuse for not
being successful and that's what's
holding you back that's like one of the
easiest things you could do like hey you
know you have a falling out or you don't
talk to this sister or this cousin or
this mother who
is abusive to you getting away from that
person temporarily while you improve
yourself would help a lot and then you
know as things get better for you maybe
then you could decide to let that person
back in or not but temporarily cut off
Chapter 5: Conclusion & Call to Action.End)
of people that's a that's a good way to
that'll kill your business quick if you
have people in your life that are trying
to drain your battery because
entrepreneurship is already draining
super draining so you better like you
can't also have people around you that
that are trying to steal from you you
know energetically energetically it's
important I don't know it's a it's a
very interesting space grow or die bye
see you next time thanks guys like

I have been an entrepreneur since 2018. I come from a regular home just like most people. My dad worked on the roads in the Chicago area for over 30 years. He always taught me to work with my brain, instead of my body. Your body can only take so much abuse. I learned so much from my father. He always pushed me to work smarter and not harder.

I have owned and operated a trucking business for 2 years. I started learning real estate in 2019. Fell into the Data & Skiptracing business in 2020. My partner Anthony & I started Hivemind in 2021.

I have done a ton of different jobs coming up from painting, to door-to-door sales, telemarketing, truck driving, and loading trailers. What I learned most is that I want to stay in the digital business space. The leverage you can have delivering digital products to the marketplace can yield limitless possibilites.

I started The List Guys in 2020. It is a data and skiptracing service. We provide seller and buyers list nationwide. My clients have been getting great results and I am proud to help people killing it.

I started the Hive in 2021 with my partner Anthony Gaona. It is a real estate and business mastermind. It also comes with a all in one CRM, that can host unlimited websites and users.

Starting the Hivemind has been an amazing journey so far. Seeing one of our users make his 6 figure month in June 2021 leveraging our software, I know there will be plenty more to come!

Hi! I am Anthony Gaona.
I’ve been in digital marketing for almost 15 years.I grew up in construction working for my dad when I was only 12 years old. Normally we had a ton of work or no work at all so a lot of my free time was spent learning how to generate leads.

It didn’t take very long for me to master online marketing because I became absolutely obsessed with it. For the last 15 years I’ve been generating construction based leads. At first I was running the projects myself. This led to sub-contracting all of the excess projects and eventually wholesaling the leads off to other construction companies.

One day I was preparing to build a single family residence for myself. In mid December, 2018, a simple YouTube search led me to the term wholesaling and the rest is history. The plan was to use my construction background to start flipping houses. By January 1st of 2019 I launched several marketing campaigns both on and offline for real estate seller leads.

Within about 4-5 weeks I had my first real estate contract locked up. It didn’t take long for me get a land lead where I made almost a full year’s pay on a single transaction. This came from a land lead and that forever changed my life.

I ran low volume larger land deals for the first two years of my real estate career. Like anyone who has been in real estate investing for an extended period of time, I started thinking about scaling my business.

Instead of deciding to vertically integrated and start hiring I imagined a model where I would teach my real estate investing method… Read More
