Chapter 1: Investing in Relationships.)
0:00
what are you investing in is the
0:02
question what are you investing
0:10
in I think a lot of people me definitely
0:13
invest in relationships I think that's
0:15
probably where the biggest part of our
0:16
investment goes in our business right
0:18
now we could say l but I think primarily
0:21
we we give a lot of our cash to our
0:23
people and on into our business contacts
0:25
into our friends our Network lenders
0:28
yeah lenders we make sure that a lot of
0:29
the the cash is is spread out to the
0:33
people that make it all possible and I
0:34
don't know if that's ever been done
0:35
before the way that we're doing it I
0:37
think I think it has but I think a lot
0:38
of people miss it they miss they miss
0:40
that opportunity the opportunity or they
0:41
don't understand why they're kind of
0:43
stuck in a rock because you got you got
0:45
to invest in your relationships as a
0:47
whole so yeah all of his life he's put
0:49
in so much work that and put other
0:50
people before himself that he's kind of
0:52
let his health get a little bit behind
0:53
him so you know I was going to come by
0:55
myself I felt guilty I'm like I need my
0:57
my people here I need like who are the
0:58
most the people that I need here to not
1:00
die to be in the best shape of their
1:01
life right so uh I'm glad that I brought
1:04
these guys and got a chance to
1:05
experience this all together U it's been
1:07
very rewarding but that was us making an
1:11
investment into ourselves and into our
1:12
people to make sure that hey even even
1:15
our money lenders like the people that
1:16
trust us with their you know their life
1:19
Y and where hey I'm protecting your
1:20
money I'm protecting your assets by
1:23
taking care of myself like at the
1:24
highest level that you can possibly find
1:26
there's nothing higher than this that I
1:27
know of um you got invest your team too
1:30
so one thing I I like is that we we had
1:33
St TR on the podcast couple times and he
1:36
he encourages sales teams to encourages
1:40
businesses to invest in their sales team
1:42
because that's life out of your business
1:43
that's where organizations like Steve
1:44
trains uh sales psychology stuff is he
1:47
he he'll devote the time to devote time
1:49
to your sales team so you got to educate
1:52
educate educate educate um and Inspire
1:56
your your team around you to do great
1:58
things so one thing we did this year is
Chapter 2: Personal Health and Team Investment.)
2:00
we had we hired a new acquisition
2:02
brought a new acquisitions person what
2:04
did we send them we send them to Phoenix
2:05
to learn how to how to raise money first
2:08
things first what's the most important
2:09
thing how to raise money so like we're
2:10
always finding a way to spend on our
2:11
team to put money into our team to give
2:13
back to our team um taking care of those
2:15
people and then you wonder why you know
2:17
there's there's loyalty there's a sea of
2:19
people out there now that are loyal that
2:21
are helping that are contributing that
2:22
are putting their own time and energy
2:24
and money into this but like we don't
2:25
have to check on them we don't have to
2:26
check like hey can you send me what you
2:28
logged in yesterday and the hours you
2:29
did like hey it's just there it's it's
2:32
coming back so I think something that a
2:34
lot of investors out there aren't doing
2:36
is considering that like hey if it
2:38
doesn't make sense for my bottom line
2:39
based on the spreadsheet it's not a good
2:41
decision but us like of course we have
2:43
that going but we're also saying hey
2:45
let's allocate a large amount of of of
2:48
resources to these people over here that
2:50
are making this thing happen and I think
2:51
I think it's you as as the owner or
2:53
co-owner to make sure you allocate funds
2:56
for that like yeah we can use the fund
2:57
somewhere else but you got to allocate
2:58
funds for your teams you allocate PS for
3:01
yeah whenever our guys needed a car boom
3:02
we put the down payment on his car like
3:04
you know people just reach out they say
3:05
hey I need a little something I didn't
3:07
even notice Mike told me he got a new
3:09
computer new computer courtesy of he
3:11
needed a computer I saw him we went to a
3:13
meeting and I saw a crack on his
3:14
windshield like get your windshield repl
3:16
done so that's why I'm driving with a
3:18
blue tape a couple days later like we
3:20
just take care of our people we try to
3:21
make room for it and um you know I feel
3:23
like it's coming back it it's a it's a
3:25
dangerous game because you have to
3:26
balance it because you can't overspend
Chapter 3: Sales Team Development.)
3:28
but you need to spend some but but it
3:31
should be like in your budget you should
3:32
have a budget like here this is this is
3:33
like 5% 10% this is like the bless the
3:35
team money because you need it and then
3:37
when you help somebody out when they're
3:38
down and out that's how buy loyalty Y
3:40
and now people know like hey I'm pretty
3:42
pretty good walking in these people's
3:43
Shadow this person's Shadow because if I
3:45
fall I know for a chance they're
3:46
probably going to pick me up like the
3:47
way they did before yep and we have
3:49
people on our team that they don't even
3:50
have ad spend money right and we're
3:52
helping them with ad spend money like we
3:53
want them to win we're really
3:55
contributing into our people like
3:57
literally out of our pocket and then
3:58
like you said hey we got an own we have
4:00
our own responsibilities but it is worth
4:02
it to to invest into your people into
4:04
your team because that's how I think a
4:06
company gets exponential without you
4:07
having to incur too much risk right so
4:09
like you get 20 flip PES that's a lot of
4:11
risk it's a lot of capital to flip those
4:12
things right so the way that we split up
4:14
our risk is there's a lot awful lot of
4:16
people pulling in the same direction as
4:17
US based on the relationships that we've
4:19
built before today I talk about
4:20
investing in your students and investing
4:22
in your surroundings people around you
4:25
um I think I think we we brought on a
4:28
lot of friends and family into the
4:30
business we even the students that stick
4:33
around they're bringing deals and they
4:35
can make get on the team we'll bring
4:36
them on as a team but they're they're
4:37
cutting their teeth while they still
4:38
have their 9 to-5 job or if they're a
4:40
stay-at-home parent um we've had a few
4:42
of those but there's a lot of
4:44
opportunity that we're willing to invest
4:46
in them too you know um I think and the
4:50
reason I think the biggest reason why we
4:51
do that is me and you did a know [ __ ] at
4:54
one point um and somebody invested in US
4:57
it might have been an hour phone call it
4:59
might have been
5:00
uh a lunch we went to lunch and shook
5:02
hands and broke bread with somebody but
5:04
there's a lot of investment that created
5:07
us so you got to return that investment
5:09
I think that's why it's part of our
5:10
culture now and it's part of who we are
5:12
as people I think and it rubbed off into
5:13
the culture is that hey if somebody
5:16
gives us something then we should and we
5:18
have it to give now we should probably
5:19
share it with somebody else yeah just to
5:21
be a good friend to be a good human
5:22
being to be a good person and then of
5:24
course that that was well that was us
5:26
being us but then it turned into this
5:28
amazing community of these awesome
5:29
people Community now people want to be
5:31
here they want to help they want to
5:32
serve and like well damn well then if
5:33
they're going to be here helping us
5:34
serving and what can we do to serve them
5:36
what can we do to help them back so
5:38
we're always trying to find a way to
5:39
give back to make something happen to to
5:41
push forward for other people yeah I I
5:43
think it's it's a big missed opportunity
5:45
for I always think about we I think we
5:47
really have a great business and a
5:48
business model but I always think of
5:49
like people that don't have this it's
5:52
tough bro real estate is probably one of
5:53
the toughest spaces to make it in lots
5:55
of companies fail real estate agents
5:57
fail I see them struggling every day on
5:59
Facebook friend of mine I mean we s we
6:01
probably we saw a lot of turnover during
6:02
Co with wholesalers a lot of wholesalers
6:05
had to go back to work they had to go
6:06
back to
6:07
work um it's just it's insane so I think
6:11
a lot of people they you're not
Chapter 4: Investing in the Community.)
6:13
investing in the right things I don't
6:14
know yep don't forget what's on your
6:16
spreadsheet don't forget to grow your
6:18
Revenue don't forget to to grow your
6:19
company but I think you got to pay
6:22
attention to what what is the most
6:23
important part what are you trying to
6:24
grow what are you investing in are you
6:26
going to have like oh you're going to be
6:27
the guy with a th000 doors and has no
6:28
friends you're going to be the guy with
6:30
you know that owns 50 rentals but you
6:32
worked your whole life away right you
6:34
forgot to invest into the people around
6:35
you there's going to be a high retreat
6:37
in the future overseas with like 100
6:39
people there Costa Rica Islands got some
6:42
good stuff going it's gonna be crazy but
6:45
I'm I'm excited for people here maybe
6:47
watching this could be you be all of our
6:49
richest friends that we made Rich that
6:51
we made Rich so well this is a great
6:53
point if you uh check out Kevin Hart I
6:56
love Kevin Hart he did a um he did like
6:59
a behind the scen special I don't know
7:00
what it was called but um he's been
7:03
doing comedy for so long but literally
7:05
his best friends are now part of the
7:06
business M and they do he hired them all
7:10
everybody so he literally works with his
7:12
best friends every day because they're a
7:13
part of his business and his his his his
7:16
enti I think that's where we're at right
7:18
now we have a lot of good people around
7:20
us that are really good friends that
7:21
really have our best interest in mind
7:22
outside of business yeah so we built we
7:24
build a hell of a team right now like uh
7:26
one of one of his friends is like a like
7:28
a his his personal trainer and he's like
7:31
uh I I don't know the video somebody can
7:33
comment below and tell me what video it
7:34
is I can't even remember but he goes
7:36
meets him at the gym like at 5:00 A.M
7:38
every morning and uh he shows up like
7:40
dude you're [ __ ] late where the [ __ ]
7:41
are you and he's yelling at I'm like I'm
7:42
here I showed up where the are you like
7:44
he's there motivated him to keep his
7:46
keep his body healthy you know and it's
7:48
a it's a responsibility that you need
7:50
you need those people in your corner you
7:52
need those people in your corner because
7:54
they really want the best for you and
7:55
you get if you have a big enough
7:57
opportunity you have opportunity feed
7:59
everybody around you well look at me you
8:01
and miky like how would you guys ever
8:02
have found this place never right and
Chapter 5: Long-Term Vision and Closing Thoughts.End)
8:04
then also we've been doing that spa day
8:05
every other Tuesday like trying to take
8:07
our leaders and our winners to to go
8:08
relax get a massage and go calm your
8:10
mind down because we really believe in
8:12
it really believe that people that are
8:13
putting in the the work with us like we
8:15
want them to be okay like it's not just
8:16
like hey I paid you I already gave you
8:17
what you came for too bad now yeah it's
8:19
like no beyond that I want you to get
8:21
paid but I also want you to be here for
8:22
a long time with your kids and your wife
8:24
and that kind of stuff so we really do
8:26
care about our people man that's
8:27
something I don't think it's normal in
8:28
real estate yeah that extent anyway Y
8:31
and there's there's tons of different
8:32
ways to think about it but I hope it
8:33
opens your mind to to invest in your
8:36
people and the people around you and
8:38
really take them to the next level
8:40
because that's that's the part where you
8:42
get exponential growth is when you
8:43
invest in your
8:45
people Y what are you investing in what
8:48
are you investing in go like share
8:49
subscribe we'll see you the next episode
8:51
thanks
8:53

Host/ Ceo/ Speaker

I have been an entrepreneur since 2018. I come from a regular home just like most people. My dad worked on the roads in the Chicago area for over 30 years. He always taught me to work with my brain, instead of my body. Your body can only take so much abuse. I learned so much from my father. He always pushed me to work smarter and not harder.

I have owned and operated a trucking business for 2 years. I started learning real estate in 2019. Fell into the Data & Skiptracing business in 2020. My partner Anthony & I started Hivemind in 2021.

I have done a ton of different jobs coming up from painting, to door-to-door sales, telemarketing, truck driving, and loading trailers. What I learned most is that I want to stay in the digital business space. The leverage you can have delivering digital products to the marketplace can yield limitless possibilites.

I started The List Guys in 2020. It is a data and skiptracing service. We provide seller and buyers list nationwide. My clients have been getting great results and I am proud to help people killing it.

I started the Hive in 2021 with my partner Anthony Gaona. It is a real estate and business mastermind. It also comes with a all in one CRM, that can host unlimited websites and users.

Starting the Hivemind has been an amazing journey so far. Seeing one of our users make his 6 figure month in June 2021 leveraging our software, I know there will be plenty more to come!

Hi! I am Anthony Gaona.
I’ve been in digital marketing for almost 15 years.I grew up in construction working for my dad when I was only 12 years old. Normally we had a ton of work or no work at all so a lot of my free time was spent learning how to generate leads.

It didn’t take very long for me to master online marketing because I became absolutely obsessed with it. For the last 15 years I’ve been generating construction based leads. At first I was running the projects myself. This led to sub-contracting all of the excess projects and eventually wholesaling the leads off to other construction companies.

One day I was preparing to build a single family residence for myself. In mid December, 2018, a simple YouTube search led me to the term wholesaling and the rest is history. The plan was to use my construction background to start flipping houses. By January 1st of 2019 I launched several marketing campaigns both on and offline for real estate seller leads.

Within about 4-5 weeks I had my first real estate contract locked up. It didn’t take long for me get a land lead where I made almost a full year’s pay on a single transaction. This came from a land lead and that forever changed my life.

I ran low volume larger land deals for the first two years of my real estate career. Like anyone who has been in real estate investing for an extended period of time, I started thinking about scaling my business.

Instead of deciding to vertically integrated and start hiring I imagined a model where I would teach my real estate investing method… Read More
